Keycoats

Keycoats are the primary or first coat applied to a wall. The main purpose is to make the wall finish thick for consistent application. At the same time, the benefit of using keycoats in construction is that it avoids hacking. A concrete surface requires a bonding keycoat prior to plastering work is started.

Keycoats are made of ordinary Portland cement, polymer additives, and graded mineral aggregate.
